Cancellation & Weather Policy

We understand that plans can change, which is why our Glen Cove cancellation policy is in place. Since your boat charter time is reserved exclusively for your group, these policies, including our reschedule credit policy, help protect both our guests and our small business.

Deposits & Payment

To reserve your date and time, a 30% deposit is required. The remaining balance must be paid before we depart, as we cannot set sail until full payment is received. Please note that processing fees charged by payment providers, if any, are nonrefundable. Additionally, it's important to be aware of our Glen Cove cancellation policy and the boat charter cancellation options available. If you need to adjust your plans, our reschedule credit policy can help accommodate changes.

Guest Cancellations & Rescheduling

All cancellation deadlines for our boat charters are based on the scheduled charter start time (local time in Glen Cove, NY). 


7+ Days Before Your Charter: Cancel for a full refund of payments made, minus any nonrefundable processing fees, in accordance with our Glen Cove cancellation policy. 

3–6 Days Before Your Charter: Receive a 50% refund of payments made (minus processing fees) or opt for a one-time reschedule credit (see below). 

Less Than 72 Hours Before Your Charter: No refund. However, you may request a one-time reschedule credit if we are able to rebook your time slot. 

No-Shows: No refund. A no-show includes arriving more than 60 minutes after your scheduled departure time without prior communication.

One‑Time Reschedule Credit (Goodwill Option)

If you need to cancel your booking within the refund window, we're pleased to inform you about our boat charter cancellation options. We can offer a one-time reschedule credit when possible, in accordance with our Glen Cove cancellation policy. 


Credits are valid for 12 months from your original charter date and apply to the charter rate paid, excluding nonrefundable processing fees. Please note that rescheduled dates are subject to availability and may require a price adjustment if you choose to move to a peak date or time. Only one reschedule credit is permitted per booking.

Late Arrival

Please arrive 15-20 minutes early, as our boat charter cancellation policy requires timely arrivals. Charters run for the time reserved, and if you arrive late, the charter may still need to end at the scheduled time. This is important because, due to other bookings, we cannot always extend the time. Be sure to familiarize yourself with our Glen Cove cancellation policy and reschedule credit policy for any changes.

Weather Policy (Captain’s Decision)

Safety is our top priority, especially since weather and sea conditions can change quickly on Long Island Sound. The Captain makes the final go/no-go decision regarding your boat charter. Cloudy skies or a slight chance of rain do not automatically lead to a cancellation; we can often cruise safely. In line with our Glen Cove cancellation policy, if Nauti Mermaid cancels due to unsafe weather or safety conditions, you may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund of payments made (minus any nonrefundable processing fees). If you opt to reschedule due to a weather cancellation, our reschedule credit policy applies to your original booking date, not the rescheduled date.

Cancellation Policy for Nauti Mermaid Charters

The maximum capacity for our boat charter is 6 passengers. If a group arrives with more than 6 passengers, we will not be able to depart, and a boat charter cancellation will apply; no refund will be issued. All guests must adhere to the captain's instructions and safety guidelines. Additionally, we reserve the right to end a charter early for safety concerns, in accordance with the Glen Cove cancellation policy. For those needing to adjust their plans, please inquire about our reschedule credit policy.
