We want your cruise to feel effortless. Here are answers to the questions we get most often. If you don’t see what you need, contact us and we’ll help right away.
Click “Book Now/Check Availability” on the website to request your date. For custom itineraries (NYC routes, dock‑and‑dine, full‑day adventures), we’ll schedule a quick phone or Zoom call to confirm feasibility, timing, and pricing before you finalize.
Sunset weekends and holiday dates fill quickly. We recommend booking as early as possible—especially for Friday/Saturday sunsets.
Yes! If you can dream it, we’ll help plan it. Custom charters require a quick consult so we can confirm route feasibility, conditions, availability, and a tailored quote.
Your private charter includes a US Coast Guard licensed captain, a private boat for up to 6 passengers, and required safety equipment. Many trips also include a cooler with ice and Bluetooth music connection. Your confirmation will list the exact inclusions for your cruise.
Gratuities are not included. If you feel your captain and crew provided excellent service, tips are appreciated (industry customary).
Up to 6 passengers per cruise (private charter). This keeps the experience intimate, comfortable, and personalized.
Yes. Every charter is private—only your group will be onboard.
Yes. Children are welcome with adult supervision. Please tell us ages in advance so we can confirm the best safety plan and life‑jacket needs. In our tri-state area, children 12 years of age and under must wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device ( Type I, II, III or V. ) at all times while aboard a vessel that is underway, unless they are below deck or in an enclosed cabin. PFDs must be in good condition, properly sized for the child, and readily accessible.
We love animals, and our 1st Mate is Nauti Madison Merdog! However, we have a “no pet policy” in place for our charter tours. Special requests can be made in advance to have Madison Merdog on board during your cruise or arrive at the dockside for a photo op with you and your guests!
Yes—BYO food and beverages are welcome. We’ll confirm what storage (cooler/ice) is provided for your specific charter.
**Please refrain from drinks and foods that can stain boat upholstery and decking.
We do not provide alcohol. Guests 21+ may bring their own beverages, and we ask that everyone drink responsibly for safety.
**We are sorry, but red wine is not allowed on board. Please choose white, rose, prosecco, champagne, beers and other beverages that will not stain upholstery and decking.
Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a light jacket (evenings can be breezy). Medication for motion sickness. For swim charters: swimsuits, towels, and water shoes if you like. For longer charters: snacks/meals and a portable phone charger.
Comfortable, casual clothing is best. Boat shoes or flat sandals are recommended.
**High heels are not permitted on the boat—they can be unsafe on deck.
We depart from the Glen Cove Creek area. Your confirmation will include the exact meeting point, parking guidance, and arrival time.
Plan to arrive 15–20 minutes before departure. Late arrivals may reduce cruise time because we often have back‑to‑back bookings.
Yes. Sunset timing shifts throughout the season. We’ll confirm the best boarding time so you get the full golden-hour experience.
Some cruises have a typical route, but every trip is flexible. Your captain will tailor the route based on your preferences, timing, and conditions.
On swim/float charters, yes—conditions permitting. Swimming is always at the captain’s discretion for safety.
Yes. Dock‑and‑dine cruises depend on dock access, timing, and availability. Docking fees and restaurant costs are not included in the charter rate. We confirm feasibility and total quote before you finalize.
Sometimes. Alternative pickups depend on safe dock access, timing, and route feasibility. Additional time/fuel fees may apply—ask us for a quote.
Safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule your charter or follow the posted cancellation/weather policy. Light wind or clouds may not impact a cruise, but storms, fog, or unsafe seas will.
The Nauti Mermaid includes a bathroom for guests. We always recommend using marina or restaurant facilities before departure.
Most small private charter boats have limited accessibility due to steps and dock conditions. Please contact us in advance so we can discuss your needs honestly and safely.
For safety and comfort, we typically ask guests not to smoke onboard. If you have a specific request, please discuss it before booking.
Yes—simple décor like balloons and banners can be fine. Please avoid confetti/glitter (it’s difficult to clean and can harm the marine environment).
We recommend posting a clear cancellation policy on your site (example: full refund with X hours/days notice; weather cancellations rescheduled or refunded). We can finalize this language once you decide your official policy.
Payment methods and any required deposit/security hold should be listed on your booking confirmation. We can also provide a standard payment policy section for your website if you’d like.
